So, in case this comes up for you, my advice is as follows. After attending two emotional funerals, don't follow it up by watching the series finale of Six Feet Under in the next week. It will mess you up.
Otherwise, Six Feet Under is the best show I have EVER seen. I recommend it wholeheartedly.
I am thankful for the time I have had thus far in my life and for whatever time I have left.

I am glad you brought this up and let me just say that I do NOT understand all the fuss over this show. I watched the pilot episode (in utter horror) this past Sunday. I do not think this is a show that someone "like me" (whatever the ef that means) should watch, and upon becoming incredibly disturbed I repackaged the disc and promptly dropped it back into the outgoing mail.
I laughed a few times, but mostly I was really, really uncomfortable. Everyone at work thinks I'm nuts, but I seriously can not believe you all recommended I watch this show. I was NOT happy afterwards! I can easily rank it as my LEAST favorite HBO experience. Sorry friend.
Whatever. You obviously didn't give it the chance it deserves. Your loss.
