"Happy New Year" is the longest duration of happiness one wishes upon someone else that isn't said with sarcasm. At least most of the time... I can think of times when someone is on their death bed and wishes someone a good life, or when someone meets a baby. 'course, I can think of a lot of weird things someone might say on their death bed.
